It is a quiet Saturday afternoon. I sit in my cozy bed, wrapped in a fluffy white comforter, free of thoughts about the past or the future.

Today, I watched a video of a woman from Punjab, India, returning to her childhood home in Punjab, Pakistan—a home she was forced to leave when she was only four years old during the partition. I also saw other videos of war, where people lost their loved ones and were left with nowhere to go.

Is it time and place that determine our fates? Or is it the greed of a few that shatters the hearts and lives of thousands? Why are they never taught morality, ethics, and kindness? Why does power corrupt so deeply that they do not think twice before harming the innocent?

In today’s world, people seek better lives and move freely from one home to another by choice. Yet, at the same time, there are those who are simply searching for a safe nest to share with their loved ones. We are all here for only a fleeting moment. The Earth nurtures us—why don’t we learn from her and nurture one another?

Why don’t we learn from the sun, moon, and stars, understanding that each of us shines in our own time? Why don’t we learn from flowers, knowing that we all bloom at our own pace and are beautiful in our coexistence?

Perhaps the answers to these questions lie not in grand revolutions or sweeping reforms, but in the small, everyday choices we make—to listen, to care, to lift each other up. If the Earth, the sky, and the flowers can teach us harmony, then maybe, just maybe, we can learn to see one another not as divided by borders or histories, but as fellow wanderers sharing this fleeting moment in time.
